X-102323 was a true crime/murder-mystery inspired interview zine I created for my second project in Junior Graphic Design. Initially, I explored both true crime and murder mystery as topics, crafting questions accordingly. Inspired by the online zine "UNSOLVED CASE FILE SRD-02071" by Kris Ardrey & Sokko, I formatted interviews with underlining, redacting, and image placements akin to taped evidence. Cover design drew from police case file folders, while interviewee cards took cues from L.A. Noire game files. A typewriter font added to the old-fashioned feel, with information on serial killers formatted like criminal records, printed on newsprint, hole-punched, and clipped, enhancing the police file aesthetic.
