Chroma Dyad was book where I had to curate content and design a 24 page publication based on things that matter to me: influences, curiosities, and questions about both. This was an opportunity to connect non-design areas of interest with design.
I chose the topic of video games because of how huge an impact it had on me as a child and was a way for me to bond with certain members of my family. The book explores my curiousity around what goes into the storytelling and game mechanics in video games and discusses some of my favorite games. The book is split into two: one section about storytelling and the other about game mechanics and the design matches that. The story part of the book is mostly black with white and red text, the game mechanics part is an off-white color with more game-playing visuals: controllers, mouse, keyboard, etc.
When it came to the actual assembling of the book, I saddle-stitched it and made a slip-case envelope from semi-transparent red paper.
